Word of the Year Printable

It’s that time of year again! Before I hop into this, I just want to say that I hope everyone had a wonderful and peaceful Christmas! I certainly had a great time watching my nieces and nephew open their gifts. Of course, the babies were more enthused by the wrapping paper than the actual toys which made watching them even more fun.

However, we’re now into the next part of this season- it’s New Year’s time! I’m always, always excited by this time of year because I LOVE fresh starts. And I love to spend time thanking God for the past year and preparing my heart for the next year. In year’s past, I’ve done what I call Word of the Year printables and this year is no different. I think spending time thinking about what you want to focus on in the following year is a healthy way to close out one year and refocus your energies on what’s to come.

Word of the Year Printable

This 2017 year, my Word of the Year was Fearless. I can tell you that this year was definitely a year filled with all sorts of fears! But I think I sensed that it was going to be a hard year and so when I chose that word I was choosing what I knew I was going to need to focus on. I knew I was going to need God’s help to be fearless and trust in Him.

Now it’s about to be a new year and I need to decide on my NEW WORD! As I sit and pray and contemplate, a few words are popping into my mind but I’ve settled on one special word: DISCOVER. This is my new Word of the Year!

To me, this word embodies so much of what I feel the Lord is going to do in my life this year. This past year was a hard year of fearless trust in God, but now I feel that I’m walking into a new season of revelation and discovery about myself, my wants, needs, and desires, my calling, and my identity. I’m hopeful that this year will bring more understanding and shed light on so many areas of my life that I feel have been gray and unclear. Eek! It’s exciting to think about what a New Year can do. Resolutions are a huge part of the New Year, but in my experience, I’ve found that summing up an idea for your year into one or two words helps focus your goals and efforts.

What about you? What word feels like you this coming year? Maybe it’s a word as simple as CHANGE or JOY. Or maybe it’s something entirely different like RELEASE or GROWTH. It could be anything!

As in years past, I am offering to write your word into this printable for you and send it back to you!  All you have to do is EMAIL ME at Cari@wellmadeheart.com with your word and definition! You can also download and write your own word and definition in.

I hope that you take some time out this week to remember 2017 and gear up for 2018! Regardless of what word you choose, it’s going to be a great year!
