Day 12: Donut Ornaments
Ah it’s DAY 12 of the 12 Days of Handmade Gifts!!!! YAY!!! I can’t believe it’s already 12 days into December! I am so happy that we got all these days and gifts to choose from!
Todays last gift is realllly fun! I love how fun these are and they are perfect for those friends that are into quirky ornaments- these are my handmade Donut Ornaments! A Dozen Donuts for the tree. Don’t they look real??
These guys are made from Sculpey clay which is the kind you bake in the oven.
Start out by just sculpting some clay in your hands, and forming it into donuts. For the holes I used a thick straw to wrap the clay around. After I made the donuts I began to add my toppings! I made:
Donuts with icing and sprinkles
Donuts with strawberry glaze and more sprinkles!
Donuts with chocolate icing and fun toppings
And my favorite Glazed Donuts!!
Bake the donuts in the oven for the allotted time and once they come out and cool, paint them with acrylic paints. For the glazed donuts just add some modpodge with the shine quality and tadaa, glazed donuts!
Add some string (the clear fishing wire would work great) and place them on a tree!
Sweeeeeet!
It’s been 12 fun days of some really great gifts!! I hope you enjoyed it and that you will make some! If you do, i’d like to see a pic or two!
Merry Christmas!
